Abstract Background and purpose: The migration of nurses as the main human resources of the health system is worrying. In recent years, the migration of nurses has reached an alarming point. Therefore, this study was conducted with the aim of determining the reasons for the migration of nurses. Methodology: This article is a type of narrative review articles. The previously published information on the reasons for the migration of nurses was searched with Farsi and English keywords Immigration, immigrants, nurses, immigration of nursesin reliable information sources. In order to cover the target as much as possible, the search was performed without time limit and using AND and OR operators. Finally, 36 articles were used. Findings: According to the survey, the reasons for the migration of nurses are divided into two general categories: push factors and pull factors. Driving factors include: low wages, limited training opportunities, poor job satisfaction, unfavorable or unstable political environment, lack of manpower, superiority of doctors and pulling factors include: availability of jobs and attractive salaries, professional opportunities or career advancement, recognition of expertise Professionalism, good working environment, personal growth. Conclusion: Migration of nurses is a global issue that needs management solutions. One of the solutions for managing the migration of nurses is to create appropriate programs and policies to attract and retain local nurses, which can include improving working conditions, increasing salaries and benefits, providing opportunities for training and professional development, and creating healthy work spaces and supporting nurses.
