Ethical Principles of Publication
The "Health Research and Development Journal, affiliated with the Torbat Jam University of Medical Sciences, adheres to the ethical guidelines of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) when dealing with any ethical violations in the presentation and publication of manuscripts. Furthermore, this journal follows the national ethical guidelines for the publication of scientific works. Studies involving human or animal samples must comply with the Helsinki Declaration. It's worth noting that having approval from the Ethics Committee for research in biomedicine is mandatory for original research articles. Additionally, clinical trial articles must have a registration code from the Iranian Registry of Clinical Trials (IRCT).
Article Acceptance Process
Article Acceptance Process After receiving articles, the editorial board proceeds to review the manuscripts for structural and thematic considerations. If the article is approved in the initial review, it is sent for peer review. The duration of the peer review process (from receipt to final acceptance or rejection) is two months. The following stages are as follows:
- After submitting the article, a confirmation letter of receipt is sent to the corresponding author.
- For each received article, two members of the editorial board are assigned to conduct an initial review and provide a general opinion regarding submission for peer review. If approved, the article is sent to the reviewers.
- After the reviewers' comments are assessed, the results are communicated to the corresponding author.
- After the responsible author makes revisions based on the reviewers' comments, the article must be resubmitted to the journal (highlighted with a separate letter responding to the reviewers).
- After the revised version is reviewed by the editorial board and accepted for publication, the article proceeds to the next stages. If the article is rejected at any of the above stages, the corresponding author will be informed immediately.
It is worth mentioning that in all the above cases, the author(s) name(s) remains strictly confidential

Article Sections
Title Page: The title page should include the full title of the article without abbreviations. It should also provide the complete names of all authors, their highest academic degree, department or affiliation, university or institution, city, country, and full contact information for the corresponding author, including address, phone number, fax, and email. Note: The names of the authors, their highest academic degrees, department or affiliation, and university or institution should also be presented in English on the title page.
Abstract: All original articles must have an abstract in both Persian and English, with a maximum of 250 words. The abstract should briefly outline the study's purpose, methods, findings, and conclusions, and include key terms at the end. When writing the keywords, it is essential to use the MeSH guide at http://www.nlm.nih.gov/mesh/MBrowser.html.
Introduction: In this section, provide background information, including references, previous research in the field, the significance of the study, unanswered questions that the research addresses, and how the study's results can help clarify uncertainties. Define specialized terms or scientific abbreviations and state the research's objective clearly. The introduction should not include the study's details or results.
Methods: This section should detail the study's methods, observations, or experiments. For well-established methods, referencing the source is sufficient. However, if new methods are used, provide enough information for others to understand and replicate the procedures. If equipment is used, specify the manufacturer and address in parentheses. Medications should be mentioned by their generic name, along with the dose and administration method. Statistical methods and software used should be mentioned, along with their version. If the study involves questionnaires, provide scientific explanations for validity and reliability, as well as the statistical methods used, and the reporting of their validity and reliability results.
Ethical Considerations: State that the research adheres to all ethical principles. If the study involves animals or uses data from records or questionnaires, mention that ethical requirements were observed or that the data were kept confidential. Include the code of ethics approved by the relevant ethical committee in the article's ethical considerations section.
Results: This section presents the study's findings in text, tables, figures, and diagrams. Only results should be presented, and refrain from including explanations or arguments related to the findings. Information in tables, figures, and diagrams should not be fully repeated in the text; referencing the table, figure, or diagram number in the text is sufficient.
Tables: Tables should be submitted without external margins. The number of tables accepted depends on the study's size and the article and should be accompanied by their title at the top of the table. Only tables in MS Word format will be accepted. Extra information about table content should be presented as a footnote at the bottom of the table. Tables should have a white background without shading. Tables should be prepared using MS Word, without page layout, single-line spacing, font B Nazanain size 12, and variable column and row font B Nazanian size 12 Bold. Use Times New Roman size 12 for typing Latin words in tables. Each number should be placed in a single cell.
Figures : Figures along with their titles, are accepted in JPG format. They should have a resolution of 300 DPI and a maximum file size of 500 KB. If a figure or table is taken from another source, include the reference number at the end of the figure or table title, and provide the source's details in the references section.
Discussion: The discussion section comprises multiple paragraphs. In the first paragraph, briefly state the primary reason for conducting the study, the main findings, and how these findings compare and contrast with those of other researchers in similar studies, supported by references. Avoid providing full details in this section. Emphasize the new and significant findings of the current study and its contributions. In subsequent paragraphs, present other main or secondary findings derived from the current study in comparison with other researchers' results. Address observed differences and provide logical or potential reasons for these discrepancies. The discussion should highlight the significance of the new findings and achievements of the study. In the final separate paragraph, mention the limitations and strengths of the study.
Conclusion: Highlight the important and new aspects of the study in the conclusion. The conclusion should precisely convey the main messages of the study and refrain from mentioning generalities or other matters not directly related to the study's findings.
Acknowledgments: In this section, acknowledge all individuals who contributed to the research but are not listed as authors. Also, mention the names of the supporting or funding organizations, and clarify if the study received financial support from governmental organizations or private companies and institutions.
Conflict of Interest
At the end of the main manuscript file (before references), declare any financial interests such as fees, salary, materials, and equipment provided by organizations, institutions, companies, or non-financial interests (administrative or job-related) transparently. It is mandatory to state the details, and if the study's publication may bring benefits or harm, it should be disclosed.
References: This journal follows the Vancouver citation style. It is preferable to use EndNote software for reference management. All references should be in English, and if a Persian source is referenced, include "[In Persian]" at the end. Number the references in the order they are cited in the text and list them in the References section. References should be limited to works cited in the text, already published, or accepted for publication ("in press"). Personal communications or unpublished data should not be included in the reference list but may be cited in the text.
Proofreading
After approval by the reviewers, a copy of the article will be sent to the corresponding author for proofreading. This step is especially important for addressing any potential issues, particularly related to author affiliations. The corresponding author is required to make the necessary changes to the journal within the shortest possible time, preferably within 48 hours. This process should be carried out through the journal's website.
