Editorial Policy
The editorial policies of Iranian Journal of Health Research and Development are based on international standards including COPE and ICMJE guidelines and aim to ensure transparency, integrity, and fairness in scholarly publishing.
Authorship Criteria
Authorship is based on the four criteria defined by the ICMJE Guidelines, including substantial contribution to the study, drafting or revising the manuscript, final approval, and accountability for all aspects of the work. Individuals who do not meet all criteria should be acknowledged in the Acknowledgements section.
Contributorship Statement
All submitted manuscripts must include a contributorship statement specifying the role of each author in the design, conduct, analysis, and writing of the study.
Acknowledgements
Individuals who contributed to the work but do not meet authorship criteria should be acknowledged with their consent. All sources of financial and material support must be disclosed.
Authorship Changes
Any changes in authorship (addition, removal, or reordering) after submission require written consent from all authors and approval by the Editor-in-Chief.
Competing Interests
All authors must disclose any competing interests that could influence the interpretation of their work. Authors with no competing interests must explicitly state this.
Publication Ethics
The journal follows COPE Guidelines in handling all cases of suspected research or publication misconduct, including plagiarism, data fabrication, duplicate publication, and image manipulation. The journal reserves the right to contact institutions or funding bodies in cases of confirmed misconduct.
Ethics Approval and Informed Consent
All studies involving human or animal subjects must include ethical approval details, including the name of the ethics committee and approval number. Informed consent from participants is mandatory where applicable.
Patient Confidentiality
Any publication involving identifiable individuals requires written informed consent. All identifying information must be fully anonymized unless explicit permission is obtained.
Reporting Guidelines
Authors are encouraged to follow EQUATOR Network Guidelines such as CONSORT, PRISMA, STROBE, STARD, and SQUIRE, depending on study design..
Clinical Trial Registration
Clinical trials must be prospectively registered in a publicly accessible registry approved by the ICMJE prior to participant enrollment.
Peer Review Policy
The journal uses a double-blind peer review system. All submissions undergo initial editorial screening followed by external peer review by at least two experts when required. Editorial board submissions are handled independently without involvement of the submitting editor.
Plagiarism Screening
All manuscripts are screened using iThenticate. Plagiarism in any form is not tolerated and is handled according to COPE guidelines.
Permissions and Copyright
Authors are responsible for obtaining permission to reproduce copyrighted materials. Published content is distributed under an open-access license permitting reuse with proper citation.
Open Access Policy
All articles are published under a Creative Commons Attribution (CC BY) license, allowing unrestricted use, distribution, and reproduction provided proper attribution is given
Decision-Making Statement
All editorial decisions are based solely on scientific quality, originality, ethical integrity, and relevance to the journal scope. The Editor-in-Chief has final responsibility for all publication decisions. Decisions are guided by peer review reports and editorial evaluation, independent of any commercial or personal influence.
Advertising Policy
The journal does not accept advertising and maintains full editorial independence. |
