Clinical signs and symptoms of confirmed COVID-19 infection: A cross-sectional study based on RT-PCR testing in hospitalized patients with COVID-19 in Iran - Abarkooh County in 2019-2020

Background: Covid 19 is a disease caused by a coronavirus. This study aimed to investigate the Symptoms or signs of Covid 19 morbidity in Abarkouh city.

Methods: This cross-sectional study was performed in Abarkooh city, with 1096 patients. Spss22 SPSS22 software was used for data analysis and Chi-square statistical tests and binary logistic regression and significance level less than 0.05.

Results: The most common signs or symptoms in people with covid 19 suspected, were fever (52.6%), hypoxia less than 93 (44.5%), cough (43.6%), respiratory distress (30.1%), and muscle pain (24.4%), respectively. Factors that significantly increased the odds ratio of Covid 19 morbidity included cough (OR=1.48 and CI= 1.92-1.37) and muscle pain (OR = 1.88 and CI: 2.55-1.38).

Conclusion: The odds of developing Covid-19 were 48% higher in people with a cough and 88% higher in those with muscle pain.
